About SolanaBeach.com.

Solana Beach's own local guide, run by a neighbor — not the city, not a chain, not an algorithm.

Thirty years of showing up

SolanaBeach.com has been online since 1995 — before most of the businesses it lists existed, and before "local guide" was a category of website. It started as one person's list of good spots in a small beach town, and thirty years later, that's still what it is.

The design changes. The list doesn't stop growing.

Independently run, unaffiliated with the City

SolanaBeach.com is independently owned and operated. It is not a City of Solana Beach website, is not run by the Chamber of Commerce, and doesn't speak for either one — for official city business, permits, or municipal services, go to the City of Solana Beach's own site.

What you'll find here instead: restaurants, shops, gyms, beaches, and events, kept current by someone who actually lives here and eats at these places.

How listings get on this site

Every business on this site is a real, operating business in or immediately around Solana Beach (92075) — no pay-to-play directory, no scraped data dump. Listings start from firsthand knowledge of the town, plus tips from readers and business owners.

Business details — address, phone, hours, what's on the menu — drift out of date; that's normal for any local directory. If something here is wrong or a business has closed, the fastest fix is a business owner (or a sharp-eyed reader) flagging it directly.

A handful of newer or lesser-known listings are marked as needing a final fact-check before they're fully verified — that's deliberate, not sloppiness: better to be upfront about what's confirmed than to publish confident-sounding guesses.

Neighbors telling neighbors

The best version of this site is word of mouth, written down. Every "locals' pick," every happy-hour note, every trail recommendation is the kind of thing you'd get from a neighbor who happens to know the town well — because that's exactly what this is.
